This is actually lower Ragusa. We arrived in upper Ragusa on the train. In 1693 an earthquake leveled the town of Ragusa. Some people chose to leave the rubble and rebuild on the hill above their town. But other people chose to rebuild the toppled town down below. So there were two towns of Ragusa until they merged in 1927. The lower town where we spent the day is called Ragusa Ibla. This is the view of Ragusa Ibla from the the upper town. We spent time exploring the streets and having a great lunch. We also went in several cathedrals. The town is very Baroque in style.
