Meeting People

One of the most exciting things about our visit to Malta has been the incredible variety of countries the people we meet are from. With six more days on Malta, we’ve met a total of three Americans – an intern, a businessman and a foreign exchange student.

We have had conversations with a Slovenian man married to a Brazilian woman, a Dutch woman married to a Spanish man and they live in Luxembourg, an Italian woman married to a Peruvian man, they live on Malta. We’ve met Canadians, Swedes, Germans, British, and today Doug talked with a man from Israel. A Maltese man and Al talked on the bus, after the man helped us find a bus to Valletta that would come sooner. He was on his way to Valletta to watch the celebrations.  Today was Inauguration Day on Malta. They have elected a woman president!  Imagine that!
