Another Week in Saarbrucken

It’s been another busy week for Al and Larry getting ready for our last game. It’s always so nice to win the last game of the season!  We play Stuttgart on Saturday. We played them early in the season and had a nice lead. They came back to win. It was one of our more painful losses.

It’s been a cool and rainy week. I’m so thankful that the Alsteads and Wagners were here while it was still sunny and warm!

In spite of rain and cool weather, the Kellers had a cookout using the Schwenker last night. We had such a nice time. Our American players were invited. We had brats and steaks and chicken all on the Schwenker. We were glad Larry could see the Schwenker in action. ( Our friend, Dave, is having two built at home. One is for us. We can’t wait to use it over the campfire!). The Kellers had a tarp up to protect us all from the rain. We had fun.

Now we’re beginning to prepare to fly home.  We fly home next Wednesday.  The big questions as we pack will be 1.  Will it all fit in the suitcases?  2.  Will it weigh too much?!  It will be a challenge!

We’ve got to get in one more time to the schnitzel place, one more visit to our favorite bakeries. So much to do! /p>

  1. I am going to miss your posts from Germany so much. You will have to continue them when you return to MN all about lake life. Unfortunately the outdoor cafes will be gone. The cafes and overlooking the square is one of the things I missed the most when we got back. As you pack, think of us us bringing in the boat, lift, dock. Summer is over here and waiting for a bit of Indian Summer to welcome you back. Good luck on Saturday on the last game and safe travels.
